No 4 for Hallam from Adpak
Hallam Beauty, a Bradford based cosmetics company, have chosen Adpak as their supplier for shrink wrapping equipment and have now purchased four AD600 compact uniblock side feed automatic systems to be sited at the end of four separate filling lines.
The main advantage for Hallam in choosing the AD600 is the compact size of the systems, as they are built on a monoblock frame and the tunnel is close coupled to the sealer. This system allows Hallam the opportunity to simply wheel the machines from line to line, creating flexibility of packing product as and when they wish.
The AD600 benefits from automatic product side feed loading, fully adjustable product pushers with back stop, solid sealing jaw system with film air cooling, product pack clamp, mesh belt through shrink tunnel, variable airflow and after pack cooling. The decision to go with Adpak was made after Hallam evaluated many potential suppliers and their final commitment was made due to Adpak's ability to supply the total package of machinery, after sales service and spare parts.
Major Food Group Project for Adpal
A tray packing and palletising system has replaced an old packaging line, the new system consisting of a SMI SK452T twin lane tray packer shrinkwrapper to package glass jars collated in trays at high speed. The SMI machine sold is capable of packing twin six pack or single twelve packs. Once shrinkwrapped, the packs are labelled and fed to a Newtec high level palletising system, to be palletised onto Chep or Euro size pallets. The main movements of the palletiser are handled by brushless motor (electronic spacer, row pusher, stacking module and elevation). Jar and pack conveyors were supplied by Unitech, who worked in this joint venture with Adpal.
Adpal Pet Foods Palletisation Success
Adpal was asked to palletise shrink wrapped bundles of dried pet foods produced for supermarkets by a major UK pet foods supplier. The project consisted of a new collator shrinkwrapping system, layer palletiser and a Tosa machine to wrap the finished goods. Adpal suplied the Newtec Pal-Pack 4700, empty pallets being singulated by means of a pallet destacker.

An aerial dispenser deposits interlayer sheets between layers and full pallets are fed into the Tosa wrapping machine, with a lifting table then introducing full pallets into the wrapping line via a hand pallet truck. Adpal also supplied a connecting pallet conveying system to feed sack product from an existing bag palletising system.
Adpal Move Into Corrugated
Following a decision to replace their existing machine, Adpal supplied one of the UK's leading providers of corrugated board and printed cartons with the Tosa 120 series rotating arm machine. The machine was equipped with power pre stretching of the film plus auto cut and heat sealing system for the film tail end. Conveyors were installed by another supplier, who modified the existing 20m long conveyor into three separately controlled zones. Adpal and Tosa control the three zones from the machine control panel.

Tosa 095 machine |
Adpal have supplied the Costi EURO94HX palletiser plus Tosa 095 rotating turntable pallet stretch wrapping machine to palletise frozen bread products. The company concerned is part of a huge international food group and this is the second system we have sold to this organisation, having installed a robot system for them in the past.
Adpal Egg Packing Installation
Adpal recently installed two Costi MP35 moving robot systems for sixteen positions with multiple pack sizes and pallet pattern variations. The order was as a result of a previous order from the customer for a seven position similar system. The product is automatically bar code scanned and sorted into the respective product accumulation lanes prior to being multi picked by the robot tool. The robot collects an empty pallet from a floor mounted magazine and deposits it at floor level prior to palletising, it also picks an interlayer sheet as and when required.
Adpal Repeat Business
Adpal have worked with Newtec once again to supply a fifth machine to a major soft drinks company, repeat business being down to the level of customer satifaction with the quality of the machines supplied and the after sales service. Product is 'dilute to taste' soft drink for the major supermarket retailers. The machine sold is the very successful Pal-Pack 4700 twin low level infeed system with electronic pack spacing device, including interlayer sheet dispenser. This machine replaces an older competitor's machine.

SMI Wraparound Case Packer |
Adpak have enjoyed a successful partnership with SMI Pack for the last two years, promoting their range of chamber machines, semi automatic and low speed fully automatic shrinkwrapping systems. These systems have been sold into many markets including beverages, soft drinks and mineral water producers. It is this experience that Adpak can use to promote with confidence the higher speed systems available from the SMI Group.
Adpak's sister company, Adpal is working in similar markets, providing end of line robotic palletisation and high speed pallet stretch wrapping solutions. The partnership with SMI Group allows Adpal to offer turnkey solutions, taking product directly from the fillers and managing the product, in many different formats, through the high speed collating and wrapping machines and on to palletisation and pallet stretch wrapping.
Adpal continue to work with many of the UK's blue chip companies on high speed production areas. The customers are frequently asking for one company to provide the complete turnkey solution. The partnership of SMI Group, Adpak and Adpal provides an opportunity for the customers to have a complete bottling and packaging solution.
Cheers to Adpal
Adpal Ltd have secured a substantial order from Direct Wines/Laithwaites, the UK's largest mail order wine distributor. Adpal automatically palletise cases of wine products, being fed on conveyors supplied by Univeyor Limited. This was a joint venture between both companies, who have succeeded in supplying a fully automated system atthe new Direct Wines distribution centre in Gloucester.
The system sold is the Costi PSP200 Gantry robot system, handling twelve pallet building positions at once. Cases are bar code scanned and sorted automatically to the respective pick and place gantry head. Cases are then picked as singles or multiples and placed onto a pallet according to the destination and courier.
Empty and full pallets are handled by an automated transfer car system. Full pallets are then transferred to a Tosa 115 series automatic rotating arm machine for stretchwrapping prior to despatch. This order confirms Adpal's capabilities to supply 'Turnkey' solutions, having proven to our customer similar systems installed by Adpal/Costi over the past 22 years in the UK
